What Is Belly Binding?Belly binding is a tradition in many cultures. After birth, your body need to reorganize itself. Belly binding helps close the body, so to speak, bringing muscles, organs, and pelvis back together. Many find it helps with posture, especially while caring for a newborn. The sensation of being gently, consistently supported is often very comforting as well.

What Happens During a Session? We suggest beginning about day 5 after a vaginal birth, about week 6 after a cesarean.
We come to you in the Denver area and provide you with a 25 yard unbleached muslin wrap. This is about 5 yard longer than most wraps; we found this to work for women of size or with a long torso. Excess fabric can easily be trimmed down to fit. We demonstrate how to use this vast strip of amazing fabric so that you can enjoy a quicker postpartum healing. You continue to use the wrap for 10-12 hours a day for about 40 days. |
